Society & Member Projects
Feedback from our Members has shown us that many of them are working on projects to do with Shetland, which are more general than research into their own family trees.
This can be in the form of transcribing, or indexing records, or more general research.
It also has become apparent that there is some duplication of effort (and there is nothing more galling than to find someone publicising their results shortly before your many years of work are ready for publication).
WHAT NEXT?
The Committee has agreed that the Society will publicise ongoing projects in the magazine and on this website.
HOW DO I PUBLICISE MY PROJECT OR OFFER SOMEONE HELP?
- In the first instance contact our Editor via the Society Address at 6, Hillhead, Lerwick
- If you are working on a project let him know the working title of your project together with a brief resumé of the content,
and state if you are willing to accept any help from other members.
If you are willing to accept help state how members can contact you i.e. via the Hillhead, by snail mail or by e-mail. N.B. Snail mail & e-mail addresses will NOT be posted on the website unless you specifically ask for this to be done.
- If you wish to offer help again contact the Editor in the first instance.
