The latest issue of the society magazine Coontin Kin is now available. Issue no.97 has the usual wide range of very interesting contributed articles and includes:
Great War diary of Charles Abernethy by Charles Abernethy [member no. 1253]
Charles was born in New York in 1889 but his father, Andrew, was born in Clousta and emigrated in the 1870’s. The war time dairy was only discovered after Charlie passed away, it details work with poisonous gases in the trenches and the loss of his brother prior to the battle of the Somme.
