Due to obvious connectivity issues during this worldwide pandemic the Shetland Family History have had to put the brakes on production of their journal, Coontin Kin.
However, as we hadn’t been that far away from an exciting launch of a member’s only section of our website, that is also on hold a little, where free material and other planned exciting features will be available, we have decided to keep the genealogical juices flowing by adding research and other material to our website, as our Chair, Susan Cooper says, “as we can’t greet locals or visitors to Shetland personally at our new offices and help you find your family roots and other information at this present time, we thought you might like to dip into some of the material we hold and stories we have in our collection. We are aiming to add to this regularly while we are confined to our homes and movement is restricted.

We very much hope you are all well, in Shetland and the worldwide diaspora. A new normal may emerge but we are positive that we can resume normal, and enhanced, services again just as soon as we can.
